Greetings to you.

MediaNet meet-ups

There are two great opportunities to meet other MediaNetters over the coming month.

If you are going to be at Greenbelt in Cheltenham next weekend please come and say hello.  The now-legendary MediaNet reception will be on Sunday afternoon at 5.30pm in a new improved venue – the Foyer of Centaur.  If you are likely to be there do drop me a line in advance at andrew@themedianet.org  so I can look out for you.

Time to consider the role of the Bible in professional life?  We are also taking the opportunity of an event at All Souls Langham Place, next to BBC Broadcasting House in London, to have a MediaNet meet-up.  The event called Integrated takes place on Saturday 1st October.  There will be a dedicated MediaNet strand, as well as great input from Mark Meynell and Professor John Wyatt.  For more details, and to book your place, go to http://tinyurl.com/4x72ehh.

We’re working on some Autumn gatherings for MediaNet members in other parts of the country.  Watch this space for more news.

theMediaNeXt appeal

As you know we are hoping to appoint a new MediaNet Development Worker shortly to take the network to a new level.  Many of you have kindly responded to our MediaNeXt appeal to raise funds for this appointment.  It’s now even easier to make a gift by doing it online.  Just go to http://tinyurl.com/3e5w5gz and the rest is simple.  If you haven’t done so yet, could I encourage you to consider giving a small regular gift as an investment in the Christian presence in the UK media.  Thanks.

ITN have a work experience scheme open to anyone in the UK aged 18 or over.  You can check it out here http://corporate.itn.co.uk/work.php.

Enjoy the sunshine.

Andrew

PS   I blog about media values on the Church and Media Network site.  My latest thoughts are about the new series of Big Brother on Channel Five.  You can read them at at http://t.co/uxm8qau.
