Christian Community Radio from Scotland

Revival

BACK GROUND

Revival radio was set up in October 1995 and first broadcast in March 1996, celebrating Easter. Our broadcasts covered the Kilsyth & Cumbernauld area. Between 1996 and 2006 we broadcast 14 times for a four-week period each time.

In 2005 we were granted a Community Radio license for 5 years which allowed us to broadcast to West Central Scotland on a fulltime basis. We now have permanent studios in Cumbernauld and we began broadcasting to the local communities 24 hours each day, 365 days per year in September 2006.

In addition to our local broadcasts listeners can “tune in” world wide on the internet at www.revival.fm.

VISION

Our purpose is to deliver a relevant, life enhancing Christian message which enriches the people of Central Scotland.

We aim to provide a unique service to the West Central Scotland region using the power of radio for good.

Our Mission statement is “Across the Scottish airwaves for the glory of God”

STAFFING

Revival FM is led by a board of directors who give their time freely.

We have a small number of paid employees and a volunteer force of over 40 people. Their duties range from cleaning the studios to answering the phone to presenting programmes. Without these volunteers Revival FM could not broadcast.

SUPPORT

Although a small part of our income comes from advertising we rely on churches and individuals who donate to Revival FM on a regular basis. We are not supported or financed by any particular business or church or individual.

COUNSELLING

Any listener who requires spiritual advice or help can contact Revival Crossline where trained counsellors are available to pray and talk with them.

PROGRAMMING

Our programmes cover a wide range of topics and interests. We provide information on traffic, news and weather particularly in the morning and early evening.

‘Thought for the day’ and devotional slots form a major part of these programmes.

We have topical interest programmes with input from politicians and community services.

Bible teaching, testimonies and life stories are the backbone of our broadcasts along with our wide range of specialist music programmes.

What ever your age or musical preference we have programmes for you.
