If you're a young Christian who's looking to break into the media or gain new skills, then theMediaNet Academy could be just what you're looking for.
theMediaNet Academy is an exciting strand at the prestigious Church and Media Conference. The conference will take place on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th September 2012 in the heart of MediaCityUk, Salford Quays. It will bring together exciting speakers from the worlds of faith and media, producers, communications officers and others who work in the media and care about faith issues.
The Church and Media Network is offering up to 16 FREE places at the annual conference. theMediaNet Academy will be a great way to learn the ropes and get a head-start when it comes to applying for media jobs.
Members of theMediaNet Academy will take part in their own strand within the conference. As well as attending key sessions in the conference members will have their own sessions equipping them for the practicalities of starting a career in media, the Christian calling to creativity and the challenges facing Christians in the industry. Members of the Academy will also be able to mingle with leading figures from the media and faith communities and spend time with young Christians already carving our successful careers in media.
Best of all, it's free. Your accommodation and access to the conference will all be provided for you. All you'll need to pay are your travelling expenses and a £30 registration fee. To qualify for a free place, you'll need to be at least 18 but less than 35 years of age at the time of the conference. You must also be able to demonstrate a commitment to Christian faith and a serious interest in working in the media.

To register your interest please download and complete the application form and send it as soon as possible to ruth@themedianet.org together with a recent CV. We will then contact you with more information. If your application is successful we will ask you to complete the conference booking form and send your registration fee of £30. All trainee bookings are subject to receipt of a satisfactory application form and registration fee.
The closing date for Academy Applications is Friday 3rd August, with applicants being informed by the Friday 17th August.
Members of the Academy may be asked to share a twin room. Single rooms are available on payment of a supplement. Please contact the Church and Media Network office for details.
